What is GDPR?

GDPR stands for "General Data Protection Regulation". It is a European Union (EU) legislation that protects the privacy and security of personal information. It is considered one of the world's strictest data privacy and security laws and outlines several requirements organizations must adhere to in processing data legally, as well as rights they must give their users regarding their data. The law applies to all organizations that process the personal data of EU citizens or residents.

Is Beep GDPR Compliant?

From the beginning, we have built Beep's infrastructure and implemented organisational security measures with privacy by design (PbD) in mind. We are closely following data regulations not only in the EU but in our major markets as well, such as the USA.

To give our valued users the peace of mind they need while using our software, we are in the process of working with third-party regulations auditors to certify our compliance. We expect to have the documentation ready very soon. Any updates regarding this will be communicated via email, and this (along with any other related) page will also be updated accordingly.

Beep Productivity Inc., a Delaware corporation, is also registered as Beep Productivity ÖU which is based in Tallinn, Estonia (EU). Here are the key measures we have taken to become GDPR compliant:

  • We have made a Data Processing Agreement available for our users (in accordance with GDPR Art. 28).

  • We only collect the data that is needed, and no more. As well as use the data only for the purposes agreed upon with users. This benefits both users (the data subjects) and your organization.

  • Our data (including those users consent to share with us) is shared only with GDPR-compliant service providers. You can see our list of sub-processors here.

  • We have created and made accessible a Privacy Policy that communicates what data we collect, how data is used, who has access to your data, how it is stored/protected, and also outlines your data protection rights in accordance with GDPR guidelines.

  • Data is kept in a form that identifies users only for as long as is necessary and we discard the data when it’s no longer useful.

  • In accordance with GDPR Art. 32, we encrypt all data in both transit and at rest. Data is also stored in Europe (more information is available in the "Infrastructure Security" & "Data Encryption" sections below).

Is Beep CCPA compliant?

Yes, we operate in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) regulations. The CCPA is a data privacy law giving California residents more control over their personal information.

We also comply with the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the amended CCPA which includes additional measures & rights for customers who are California residents and came into full effect in January 2023.

For more information, read the "California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)" section in our Privacy Policy page.
